Katie and Angelique

This is just a small excerpt from "The Secret Kingdom". The link below is a song that truly touches my heart and casts a great deal of meaning to the book as a whole. It also carries the feel of the following scene. I think watching the video might help in visualizing the scene. Yeah, I know, I'm supposed to take care of the visualization. The Secret Kingdom

What if mentally challenged children could see Heaven? The Cradle of Humankind is the story of an autistic girl, who, against all odds, brings to the world what she cannot give herself.

Katie Mylady just wants to learn to read, then, hopefully, she will be reunited with her childhood friends. It sounds simple to the average learner, yet, to Katie, climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro would be easier. How can she be expected to live in a world where every simple academic accomplishment is just beyond her grasp? Feeling overlooked and worthless, she is caught in an emotional spiral until she falls asleep on her grandmother’s front porch and awakes in a classroom in Heaven. Through supernatural situations both in Heaven and the Secondary, Katie discovers that she possesses the ability to bring Heaven to Earth in a way mere mortals have never experienced.
